Hair Washing
Many patients have asked me if washing their hair causes hair loss, and the fact of the matter is that it does not, unless your are washing ridiculously hard or if you are suffering some sort of serious allergic or chemical reaction from your shampoo.
Washing your hair helps keep your scalp free of dirt and grime, which actually helps your hair grow well and look more healthy. Of course, it is in the shower that you probably notice that your hair is falling out. This is normal, because your hairs often stay tangled in your existing hair and are only pushed out while your hair is being washed.
Don’t worry, your hair would have fallen out anyway, and it was not the washing that caused your hair to fall out. If you had chosen to not wash your hair, you may have been able to keep those hairs for a couple more days at best, but even then, that’s just not as hygienic and is really not a recommended approach.
The bottom line is that it’s best to wash your hair regularly to keep your scalp clean. If you want to stop the rate at which your hair is falling out, it’s best to do it with one of the hair loss products I recommend based on clinical testing and patient reviews.
